Instructional
Systems Design is in greater demand today than ever
before. With rapid advances in technology, companies understand
the need for ongoing skills training in order to remain competitive
and they recognize the need to include instructional designers
on their training teams.
When content is developed and delivered based on solid instructional
design rather than piecemeal topics, learners understand the
information, retain it, and can draw on the knowledge base,
applying what they’ve learned more quickly.
Our instructional designers are professionals with extensive
experience in developing instructional programs for Fortune
500 companies in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical,
insurance, financial, consumer products and manufacturing.
They are available to work on-site as a member of the client
design team or off-site as a member of a Computer
Learning Solutions’ instructional design project
team. |

Information
Mapping
Information Mapping is a research-based method of analyzing,
organizing and visually presenting information. Developed
by Robert E. Horn when he was a researcher at Harvard and
Columbia universities, Information Mapping can be applied
to subject matter in any industry and conveyed on paper, computer
screen or in multimedia presentations. It utilizes information
types to present content so that it is easy to access, understand
and remember.
Content using Information Mapping is modular,
versatile and reusable. It can be used effectively for web
sites and intranets, user guides, e-learning and training
materials.
To use Information Mapping for our clients,
we first analyze all issues that affect content and define
the scope of the documentation, creating a project plan. We
then identify, organize and design the content and prepare
an outline. Finally, using information types, we develop the
documentation, drafting and editing content, and deliver the
final document. |
